Big Changes at The Wooden Bear Beginning May 1st

After almost 20 years of designing, I’m slowing things down just a little. I started this business just before the birth of my second son, Caleb. He will be graduating from high school this year. My other son, Zach, just graduated from college and is starting his own career. With all of these changes, Brian and I will be moving just a little south and starting our “empty nest” home.

After much praying and thinking and planning, it seems like the right time to slow things down with my business, enjoy family, and live a more active and healthier lifestyle beyond 12-hour days at my computer desk. As many quilt shop owners know, running your own business is wonderful and fulfilling, and often difficult and exhausting. But, I wouldn’t change a minute of any of it. It allowed me to stay home with my children, be creative, and meet some wonderful friends in the quilting industry.

AS FOR THE CHANGES, HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING:

We will continue filling and shipping orders through April 30th. All products, excluding e-patterns, are on clearance until April 30th. Beginning May 1st, all products, except for e-patterns, will no longer be available on our website.

Beginning May 1st, The Wooden Bear is strictly an e-pattern business. This allows me to continue to design and offer my patterns, but won’t require a large warehouse or skipping vacations so I can be home to ship orders! I plan to keep the cost around $3-$5 retail, making my designs inexpensive and easily-accessible.

Beginning May 1st, our phone service will be discontinued. I can always be reached at info@thewoodenbear.com, and also service@thewoodenbear.com.
